Tyler has always had a passion for art. Growing up on a small farm in Colorado, with no neighborhood kids to play with, Tyler found friendship at a little ceramic shop on the same country road as his home. In high school, he excelled in art; after serving an LDS mission in England, he obtained a degree in Graphics from the Colorado Institute of Art.
Tyler spent almost 30 years working in advertising, but always continued his fine art, and in particular, sculpting, on the side. Now he has decided that art is his full-time career. Tyler and his wife Julie fell in love with Spring City when they first visited. The historical, artistic, family-friendly attitude appealed greatly to both their small-town upbringings. Tyler and Julie have four children (two of whom are still at home) and four grandchildren. Figurative sculpture is the subject of most of Tyler’s pieces. Emotion, movement and body language is what inspires him most.
